The Need for Speed franchise is one of the longest-running racing series on the market. The original dates back to the original PlayStation and the Sega Saturn when it was known as The Need for Speed. Of course, the franchise has evolved quite a bit in the intervening 24 years. Need proof? Just check out this gameplay video from the Sega Saturn game released in 1994.
Electronic Arts released the first next-gen Need for Speed game, Need for Speed Rivals, in 2013 with the help of the makers of the Burnout franchise, Criterion Games. They rebooted the Need for Speed franchise in 2015 with the release of Need for Speed on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The most recent game is Need for Speed Payback, which came out in 2017.
All three of these games are now steeply discounted from their original sticker price of $59.99, as you can see below.
