Over twenty years after the original, Capcom has released the Resident Evil 2 remake on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. While fans are no doubt busy enjoying the reimagined game with modern graphics, the original still has a special place in a lot of gamers’ hearts.
Resident Evil 2 was first released on the PlayStation in 1998. The game features protagonists Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield as the two attempt to escape from a zombie-infested Raccoon City. The game is generally regarded as one of the best in the long-running survival-horror franchise. It was later ported to the Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PC, and GameCube.
The PS1 Greatest Hits version is currently going for $19.99 at GameStop. The black label version goes for roughly double that on eBay. Below we have GameStop product page links and prices for each individual Resident Evil 2 release across the various platforms. Power-up Rewards Pro members save on both the PS1 and N64 versions.
Resident Evil 2 for PS1 (Greatest Hits) – $19.99

GameStop does not currently have the GameCube and Dreamcast versions in stock, but you can find those on eBay. Click here for the GameCube version and click here for the Dreamcast version. They’re not cheap, though, since both versions are now collector’s items. Below is a comparison video of each version.
